Der Wohnungsverbund - Accommodation for Refugees

In June 2014, 30 out of a total of 184 flats in the Staudenhof residential building in the centre of Potsdam were made available to accommodate people seeking asylum in Germany. In Staudenhof, the refugees live side-by-side with long-term residents of Potsdam as their neighbours. The meeting space on the ground floor offers a diversity of possibilities for intercultural encounters between residents, both refugees and non-refugees, and the people of Potsdam.

Since October 2012, the accommodation for women refugees on Hegelallee has provided a place of refuge for women and their children who have fled conflict and violence in their home countries. Residents are provided with a peaceful, secure environment where they can be supported, gain strength and be empowered for their next steps in life.
